Privacy Policy

Last updated

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit propfirmwiz.com (the “Website”) or contact us.

1. Who we are

Prop Firm Wiz is an independent prop-firm research and educational website operated by Jay Heart, an individual based in the United States (“we”, “us” or “our”). Jay Heart is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

For privacy questions or requests, email help@propfirmwiz.com.

2. Information we collect and why

Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if provided, and the contents of your message and attachments. We use this information to respond, investigate reported errors and keep a record of the correspondence. Providing this information is voluntary, but we may be unable to answer a request without enough detail.

Please do not send passwords, identity documents, payment-card details or trading-account credentials.

Technical information. Our hosting provider processes information such as your IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, access times and error logs. This helps deliver the Website, diagnose problems and protect against misuse.

Questions about compared accounts. If you use Ask about these accounts on the comparison page, your question and the accounts you selected are sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model that writes the answer. We do not store your question or its answer, and we do not add them to analytics. If you have accepted analytics, we count clicks on the prepared questions, never what you type. Please do not include personal information in a question. To protect the assistant from automated misuse, the comparison page runs an invisible check by our hosting provider that tells browsers from scripts, and we count how many questions are asked each day, as a number only.

Analytics, if you agree. With your consent, Google Analytics collects information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the Website, and your approximate location, device and browser. We use it to understand which guides are read and to improve the Website. See the next section.

3. Cookies, browser storage and analytics

Cookies and similar technologies store information on your device. The Website uses the following:

NameTypePurposeDuration
pfw-analytics-consentBrowser storageRemembers your analytics choice12 months
pfw-reading-themeBrowser storageRemembers your Dark or Light reading choiceUntil you clear it
pfw-comparison-trayBrowser storageRemembers the accounts you chose to compare (their page addresses only); it stays in your browser and is never sent to usUntil you clear it or remove the accounts
_ga, _ga_V60T2B2K05Cookies (Google Analytics)Distinguish visits and measure which pages are readUp to 2 years

Google Analytics runs only if you select Accept all in our cookie banner, or turn on Analytics in its Settings. Essential only keeps it off, and only the browser storage listed above is used. Before you choose, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookies are set. Simply browsing the Website does not constitute consent. Google Analytics advertising features are disabled.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, which shows your current choice. Withdrawing consent stops analytics and deletes the analytics cookies from your browser. You can also manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings; clearing them may reset your choices.

In Google Analytics, event-level data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months.

4. Our basis for using information

Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, maintaining the Website and keeping it secure, subject to your rights and interests. We rely on your consent for analytics. We rely on legal obligations where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law.

5. When information is shared

We use the following service providers, which process information on our behalf to provide their services:

  • Vercel Inc. hosts and delivers the Website.
  • Google provides Google Analytics (only with your consent) and our email service (Google Workspace).
  • Anthropic, PBC provides the AI model that answers questions on the comparison page. It receives each question with the published rules of the selected accounts and processes them to write the answer.
  • Supabase Inc. hosts our research database, including the prop-firm data shown in program comparisons. Published data is copied from it when the Website is built. Your browser does not connect to Supabase when you visit, and we do not send it information about visitors. It also keeps the daily number of questions asked on the comparison page, with nothing about who asked or what.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to establish or defend legal rights or investigate misuse.

Links to prop firms and other websites take you to independently operated services. Their privacy policies govern information you provide to them. Check those policies before registering or submitting personal information.

6. International processing

We operate from the United States, and our hosting, analytics, email and AI providers are based in the United States and may process information there and in other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your information is transferred to the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses offered by those providers.

7. Retention and security

We retain correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the enquiry, follow up on the issue and meet relevant legal requirements. Technical records are retained according to their operational or security purpose and the settings of the relevant provider. Analytics data is retained as described in section 3. When assessing retention, we consider the sensitivity of the information, whether the issue remains open and any applicable legal requirement.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy.

You may also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

To make a request, email help@propfirmwiz.com. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority where you live or work.

9. Children

The Website is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before making a relevant change.

For questions about this policy, contact help@propfirmwiz.com.
