FTMO Instant and FundedNext Direct: What Changes Besides the Evaluation?
In both pairs below, the account without an evaluation has the stricter payout consistency rule. The price difference is less uniform: FTMO Instant costs more to buy than 1-Step, while FundedNext Direct has a lower list price than Rapid Daily.

PFW's launch records introduce FTMO Instant and FundedNext Direct. Here, each is compared with a same-firm evaluation route at the same advertised size. These are separate CFD/FX and futures purchase decisions, with payout rules compared at the funded stage.
FTMO: tighter payout consistency, a higher price and an earlier loss-limit update
The CFD/FX pair is FTMO · 1-Step Standard · $50,000 and FTMO · Instant Standard · $50,000. FTMO also offers 2-Step at this size; 1-Step is the closer match because its headline daily and overall loss percentages match Instant's.
Start with the condition on funded profits:
| Account | Funded consistency |
|---|---|
| 1-Step Standard | On the funded FTMO Account, the best day may be at most 50% of total profit before a reward. Accounts ordered before 12 October 2026 keep the Best Day Rule: at most 50% of the profit of all positive days. No minimum number of trading days. |
| Instant Standard | For a Reward, the Best Day may be at most 30% of total profit; going over is not a breach, but more profit is needed, and total profit counts from zero again after each Reward. No minimum trading days. FTMO Identity must be approved before the first Reward. |
For a new purchase, Instant's lower ceiling requires more total profit to support the same positive best day. Exceeding that ceiling delays eligibility rather than breaching the account. Its total-profit count restarts after each Reward. The older-order exception shown for 1-Step is covered in PFW's Legacy-rule post.
The entry payment also differs:
| Account | Published purchase price |
|---|---|
| 1-Step Standard | €319 one-time |
| Instant Standard | €1,499 one-time |
Instant has the higher purchase price. Those prices let you compare spending for a fixed number of purchases; they do not tell you how many evaluation attempts you will need.
| Account | Total and daily loss |
|---|---|
| 1-Step Standard | 10% maximum loss, trailing at the end of each day from the highest balance and never falling; 3% daily loss. Initial floor $45,000. |
| Instant Standard | Max loss 10% ($5,000), trailing intraday from the highest balance reached on closed positions; the limit starts at $45,000, only rises, and does not reset when a Reward is withdrawn. Max daily loss 3% ($1,500) below the 00:00 CE(S)T balance. |
The matching percentages conceal a different update clock. In a hypothetical session, suppose each account starts with no open positions at its tracked balance high. You close a net gain that establishes a new high. On Instant, the overall loss threshold rises immediately with that closed gain, so the gain adds no room above it for your next trade. On 1-Step, the threshold waits until the end-of-day update, so the gain adds room during the session. The three loss-limit models explain this effect; FTMO Instant specifically tracks closed balance.
FundedNext: similar loss allowances, different payout and activity conditions
The futures pair is FundedNext · Direct · $50,000 and FundedNext · Rapid Daily · $50,000. FundedNext also offers Flex and Rapid Pro at this size. Rapid Daily is the closer comparator because both its overall loss allowance and daily limit amount match Direct's:
| Account | Overall loss |
|---|---|
| Direct | $2,000 maximum loss, trailing at the end of each day; the floor locks at $50,100, and the first withdrawal locks it there. |
| Rapid Daily | $2,000 maximum loss, trailing at the end of each day; the floor locks at $50,100. |
| Account | Daily loss and contract limits |
|---|---|
| Direct | A $1,000 daily loss limit, a soft breach that disables trading for the rest of the day. Up to 3 minis or 30 micros. |
| Rapid Daily | A $1,000 daily loss limit and up to 4 minis or 40 micros, both from the Challenge through the FundedNext Account. |
Matching amounts do not make these rules identical. Direct has the lower contract cap; Rapid Daily's quoted value does not establish the consequence of reaching its daily limit.
The payout difference is clearer:
| Account | Funded consistency |
|---|---|
| Direct | 20% perpetual consistency: the highest single-day profit ever recorded on the account must be at most 20% of the current cycle's profit. |
| Rapid Daily | None, at any stage. |
Direct carries its highest-ever profitable day into the test against each current cycle's profit. An earlier cycle's strong day can therefore keep setting the profit requirement in later cycles. Rapid Daily has no consistency test, although other payout conditions still apply. Read payout-window boundaries alongside the exact account rule: Direct's rule combines a lifetime best day with current-cycle profit.
| Account | Published purchase price |
|---|---|
| Direct | |
| Rapid Daily |
Direct's list price is lower. Temporary offers can change that gap, and the table shows any that apply when you read it, each with the day it was last confirmed. Direct's price conditions also state that the account cannot be reset, which matters when considering what happens after an account ends.
| Account | Activity and time limits |
|---|---|
| Direct | None: there is no Challenge. The account is breached for inactivity if no trade is placed in a trading week (Monday to Friday). |
| Rapid Daily | No time limit to pass, and the target can be reached in a single day. Challenge and FundedNext Accounts are breached after 30 consecutive calendar days without a trade. |
Direct's shorter inactivity allowance makes a planned break more consequential. A full trading week away can end Direct while remaining within Rapid Daily's inactivity allowance.
