Evaluation & risk
Opening loss allowance
Opening loss allowance: $1,000
How this is calculated. Opening balance minus the opening total-loss floor.
- opening balance
- $25,000
- opening total-loss floor
- $24,000
- Result
- $1,000
Daily loss limits and any trailing of the floor after the opening are separate rules.
Official source: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 22 October 2026).
About this rule. How much the account can lose from its opening balance before the total-loss rule is broken, using the smallest allowance across the required evaluation phases. An account bought without an evaluation uses its funded account's allowance. It is not daily headroom, live capital or a pass probability.

Read the guide: How do you calculate the opening loss allowance?
Difficulty ratio
Difficulty ratio: 1.50
How this is calculated. For each required evaluation phase, the profit target divided by that phase's opening loss allowance. The results are added.
- profit target
- 6% of $25,000 = $1,500
- opening loss allowance
- $1,000
- Result
- 1.50
This describes the shape of the evaluation; it is not a pass probability.
Official source: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 22 October 2026).
About this rule. Each required phase's profit target divided by that phase's opening loss allowance, added together. More target per dollar of allowed loss gives a higher number; an account bought without an evaluation has no target, so its ratio is 0. It describes the shape of the evaluation, not the chance of passing.

Official source: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 22 October 2026).

Loss mechanics
Loss mechanics: An end-of-day (EOD) dynamic drawdown of $1,000 below the highest end-of-day balance: it updates once a day, at market close, only as closed profit raises the balance, and locks for good at the initial balance once the closed profit reaches the drawdown amount or at the first payout request. Equity or balance reaching or falling below it permanently closes the account.
Official sources: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 20 October 2026); E8 Markets · EOD Dynamic Drawdown (futures) (checked 17 October 2026).

Minimum days and time limits
Minimum days and time limits: No time limit and no minimum: the Challenge can be passed in as little as one day. Sources differ on inactivity: the E8 Signature article asks for at least one trade opened and closed every 60 days; E8's inactivity article closes futures accounts after 7 days without one.
Official sources: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 18 October 2026); E8 Markets · E8 Signature (futures) (checked 18 October 2026); E8 Markets · Is there any inactivity rule? (futures) (checked 18 October 2026).
About this rule. The minimum number of trading or profitable days each evaluation phase requires, including any minimum the firm states a consistency rule sets, any time limit for passing, and any inactivity period after which the account is closed.
Daily loss and contract limits
Daily loss and contract limits: No daily loss limit in the Challenge. In the Performance account a daily pause of $500 (2% of the initial balance): if equity or balance falls to the day's starting balance less $500, trading stops until 00:00 server time, without closing the account. Up to 2 contracts ($20,000 of margin) in both stages.
Official sources: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 20 October 2026); E8 Markets · Daily Pause (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · Max. available Contract Sizes (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · All product overviews (E8 One vs E8 Zero vs E8 Pro vs E8 Signature) (futures) (checked 17 October 2026).
About this rule. Two limits: any daily loss limit, and the most contracts the account may hold at once, counting minis and micros as the firm states.

Payouts
First and later payouts
First and later payouts: No fixed wait: a payout can be requested once the payout criteria are met (the 35% best day rule, the buffer, and from the second payout five profitable days), which makes 3 days the earliest first payout. E8 says this is not a separate waiting rule.
Official sources: E8 Markets · Futures homepage and account configurator (checked 20 October 2026); E8 Markets · Everything about Payouts (When, How, How fast..) (futures) (checked 17 October 2026).
About this rule. When the first payout can be requested and how often later requests are allowed. Waiting periods, qualifying days, review and payment are separate clocks.
Payout minimums and caps
Payout minimums and caps: The smallest payout is $100 of your share ($125 requested at 80%). A buffer the size of the EOD drawdown ($1,000) must stay in the account and cannot be requested. Caps per payout, for accounts bought from 1 October 2026, 17:00 UTC: $1,000 for the first and second, $1,250 for the third and fourth. At most 4 payouts per account (5 for accounts bought earlier); after the fourth the account closes and a free Challenge of the same size follows.
Official sources: E8 Markets · E8 Signature (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · Payout caps and buffers for E8 Signature explained (futures) (checked 17 October 2026).
About this rule. The smallest request allowed and any limit on how much can be withdrawn per request or cycle.
Funded consistency rules
Funded consistency rules: 35% best day rule in the Performance stage: no single day's profit may exceed 35% of the total profit for the payout period; a larger day does not fail the account. Before each payout after the first, five profitable days of at least 0.3% of the initial balance ($75) are needed; the count resets to 0 at each payout. Only profit made in the current payout cycle counts toward a payout. The Challenge has no consistency rule.
Official sources: E8 Markets · 35% Best Day Rule (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · E8 Signature (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · All product overviews (E8 One vs E8 Zero vs E8 Pro vs E8 Signature) (futures) (checked 17 October 2026).
About this rule. Rules on how profit must be spread across days or trades before a funded payout, and any required profitable days.
After a payout
After a payout: The payout comes off the balance; the EOD drawdown locks at the initial balance at the first payout request, and the buffer the size of the drawdown always stays. Profit not paid out does not carry over to the next payout. The daily pause is then calculated from the new balance.
Official sources: E8 Markets · EOD Dynamic Drawdown (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · Payout caps and buffers for E8 Signature explained (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · E8 Signature (futures) (checked 17 October 2026); E8 Markets · Everything about Payouts (When, How, How fast..)
